Description

Saskia E.M. Schols (PhD, MD) is an internist-hematologist at the Hemophilia Treatment Centre of Nijmegen-Eindhoven-Maastricht, department of Hematology of the Radboud university medical centre, Nijmegen, the Netherlands. As a physician she is involved in the health care of patients with acquired and congenital bleeding disorders, especially rare bleeding disorders (very rare coagulation factor deficiencies and fibrinolytic disorders). Dr. Schols is the principal investigator of the nationwide cross-sectional RBiN study in which she supervises PhD students with their scientific projects. She also participates in many investigator-initiated nationwide studies. Dr. Schols is board member of the Dutch Society of Hemophilia Physicians and Dutch Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis. Since 2024, she is chair of the EAHAD working group for Very Rare Coagulation Factor Deficiencies. In 2025, she was appointed associate professor of rare bleeding disorders of the Radboud university medical centre.
